Queensbridge’s Smart Room is a Resourced Provision Unit for children with Severe and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. We have eight places for children from Reception to Year Six.
We provide a multi-sensory curriculum that supports children’s whole development. We work with a range of services both educational and health to help meet the outcomes that are outlined in the children’s Educational Health Care Plans.
During the school day the children not only access a highly multi-sensory curriculum, but access individual programmes of learning.
Queensbridge is a fully inclusive school, the children are part of our whole school community and as such access, a range of activities and lessons with their mainstream peers to develop and enhance their learning opportunities.
The Smart Room is taught by a teacher and HLTA with the support of special needs teaching assistants dependent upon the needs of the children. All staff receive training in the moving and handling of children and the administration of medication. Staff in the Smart Room provide a whole range of interventions and therapy’s to support children’s individual needs.
